Libertarians are hard to classify.and libertarians do no equal republicans or even conservatives.in some ways, yes, they are conservative in nature, in other ways, their views are quite liberal in nature.

Conservatives were already corrupted when they started talking about how moral they were and their faith in god made them so moral. They were doomed to corruption. They are a fake bunch of hypocrits who think there better than anyone else.

Goldwater is boss. The modern Republican Party is NOTHING like what he envisioned it should be. It’s been hijacked by social conservatives and neocons. But the sheer size of the Ron Paul movement is a good indication it is moving towards the Goldwater ideal.

TimeWarp66 ,I totally agree with your last assessment.I support Ron Paul although most of my views are left of center.I agree with a lot of conservative principles,but like you say the movement got hijacked by whackjobs.And that is the entire point of John Dean’s book.
